Professional Development Case Study

Making Grading Easier: Leading faculty are busy. They want to provide valuable feedback to their students to provide a rich learning experience while focusing their efforts for maximum benefit. This workshop reveals techniques for getting the most out of feedback and assessment tools. 

Designed for Leaders: I was responsible for facilitating 14 monthly professional development workshop sessions for the Learning Science Lab team and leadership. Participants included the Vice Dean for Online Learning, the Executive Director of the Learning Science Lab and the Director of teaching evaluation program (STEP). This professional development workshop impacted the teaching and learning standards applied to all faculty at the school.

A New Platform: I created the workshop course site in the university's new Learning Management System, D2L Brightspace, prior to the wider roll-out. This course served as a pilot for the new platform.  The curriculum was designed around materials developed in Visible Learning.
